KUDOS Children’s Theatre Company, a beloved hub for young performers and a cornerstone of
creative growth in the community, is at risk of closing its doors permanently. After years of
providing a stage for children to discover their talents, build confidence, and forge lifelong
friendships, the theatre is facing an uncertain future.
“This is more than a theatre—it’s a safe space where children discover who they are and what
they’re capable of,” said Sarah Rushton, Owner/Director of KUDOS. “Losing this space would
mean losing countless opportunities for young performers to learn, grow, and shine.”
To prevent this closure, KUDOS is launching a membership campaign with a simple goal: to
sign up 80 members by Friday the 13 th of December. The memberships will not only provide
critical funding but also allow the theatre to continue offering its transformative programming for
children.

“Our theatre isn’t just about performing—it’s about teaching life skills, building self-esteem, and
fostering a sense of belonging,” said Rushton. “When a child steps on stage for the first time,
they learn to face their fears, express themselves, and work as part of a team. Those lessons stay
with them for life.”
The Clock is Ticking
KUDOS has until Friday the 13th to secure the memberships needed to remain operational.
Without immediate support, the theatre will be forced to close, leaving countless children
without the creative outlet they’ve come to rely on.
