BOOK BUDDIES:

There will also be out Book Buddies program at The Chavez, Troke, Mountain House, Tracy, and Manteca Libraries.  This is a reading program for students who have completed Kindergarten and will be entering 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grades who are struggling with their reading.  Teen volunteers work with students to help them grow in their reading level and confidence.  The program starts the first week in June and goes until the end of July.  It is 2 days a week, different days and times depending on the branch.  We ask that the families commit to the program, getting their students to the program for every session as much as is possible.

Summer Reading and Book Buddies are free programs meant to enhance the reading experience throughout the summer, keeps students reading, and encourage adults to read as well.
