This spring the Haggin Museum launched a new workshop specially geared towards teens ages 12 to 16. The Spring Drawing Course invites young artists to strengthen their drawing skills through hands-on instruction, museum exploration, and guided observation. Inspired by the Museum’s galleries and collections, students will learn to interpret and express what they see in creative and meaningful ways. By the end of the course, participants will gain confidence, refine their techniques, and develop a lasting appreciation for both art and museum experience.

Imagine art as a multi-story building, with each “floor” representing a new level of skill and discovery. Spring Drawing Course invites young artists to step onto “The First Floor of Art”—a creative introduction to artistic technique and observation. Drawing inspiration from the museum’s first-floor galleries, participants will explore the relationship between what they see and how they express it on paper. This immersive experience not only builds foundational drawing skills but also sets the stage for future growth.

Students can choose a week and session that fits into their schedule. Spaces are limited, so secure your spot early for this unique workshop. Sessions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To learn more and register for the course, visit the Haggin Museum website or email education@hagginmuseum.org
