MEET THE OWNERS!

Meet Mimi and Dan Glorsky!

Mimi has 24+ years of experience as an independent and formally-trained artist (digital

photography, drawing, woodwork, sculpture, bookmaking, graphic design, painting,

ceramics, printmaking, metalwork/jewelry), and is a former public school art educator.

She is a Cum Laude graduate of SUNY New Paltz in New York where she studied art

and art education. Leveraging her vast artistic experience and education, Mimi will run

the Stockton studio as General Manager.

Dan has 9+ years of experience as an active-duty U.S. Army officer, and has most

recently been working as a clinical supply chain manager (biopharmaceutical industry)

in the SF Bay Area for the last 5+ years. He is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy

at West Point in New York, and of UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business. He also

volunteers his time to mentor local high school students through the tough application

process for his undergrad alma mater. Dan will manage the studio's marketing and

perform other administrative support.

Together, they have a family with two kids, one dog and two cats.

WHY WE CHOSE TO OPEN COLOR ME MINE IN STOCKTON:

During Dan's military career, we frequently moved from one part of the country to the

other, and as parents, the first thing we would do was to look for activities to do as a

family. As a former art teacher, Mimi's preference always tended towards the creative

and we would spend many hours at museums, art studios and science centers. Upon

moving to San Joaquin County, we found very few options for family recreation and

often needed to travel an hour or more to find engaging or educational opportunities for

the kids.

We feel that by opening a Color Me Mine in Stockton, we can provide a much needed

outlet to those families to allow them to express their creativity, and to expose people to

a fun activity they may not have tried before. As parents and as a former educator, we

feel strongly that everyone should have creative opportunities to expand their horizons

and to think outside the box.
