This past weekend, 40 of our family members loaded up our vehicles with camp gear in tow and made our way to a beautiful private 25-acre campground resort in Mokelumne Hill, California. With wide open space, a stunning natural setting, and plenty of amenities for all ages, it turned out to be the perfect destination for our large group.
Time to Come Together

All of our family, young and old, including 4-legged fur babies, had room to roam and relax. There was no shortage of campground space so it made it easy for each family to find a comfortable spot to set up for the weekend. But what really made this place quite unique is the charming and spacious three-bedroom lodge not too far from the campground-ideal for those who prefer a cozy bed or those who really aren't the tent camping type. It has its own kitchen, bathroom/showers, living room space, and outdoor seating.
Adventure for All Ages

There was a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy. From horseshoes to corn hole, to hiking and bike trails. All these options added a touch of adventure and fun to each day. But the true star of the show was the gorgeous swimming pool that overlooked the tree lined hills and was just steps away from the campsite. All the kids and even the adults splashed around from morning to night. When anyone needed a quick break, you could just step out of the pool and head straight to a private cabana or stretch out in the long loungers that lined the grassy area along the poolside!
Outdoor Dining, the Easy Way
Cooking for a large crowd was something we were a bit nervous about but thanks to the outdoor kitchen, we had access to a range of bbq/propane grills, pots and pans, cooking utensils, and two fridges. We bbq'ed everything from ribs to burgers, and whipped up a giant breakfast spread-the coffee maker was a life saver for a majority of the adults on the trip! There is a spacious outdoor bar area where toasts and cheers were made throughout the stay and it also served as the perfect snack bar. Cooking outdoors and dining under the stars, surrounded by laughter and music was one of the weekend’s highlights.

The time we had up at Pineridge was all about togetherness and enjoying the great outdoors. When the evening came around, it was our sign to start gathering around the fire pit for s’mores, storytelling, family game night, and even karaoke. This place was all ours to enjoy for the weekend and we took full advantage of every single moment. This kind of getaway gives you an experience that sticks with you long after the tents come down.
We did not want this camping adventure to end and it felt like time went by in a blink of an eye. We decided to make this an annual family tradition and before we left we locked in our dates for next year. This time we plan to stay even longer, a weekend was just not long enough.
